Every January the Cavern fills with plans to detox, cleanse and reset, most of which quietly lapse by the ninth. This bath potion kept its name from an older label and never got around to updating it. It does not remove anything from your body. It removes you, briefly, to a bright green hillside made of steam. May chang lifts, tea tree cuts through, juniper settles cold and clean underneath.

A may chang, tea tree and juniper bath potion from Lather Lagoon, sold as a set of three bath bombs, a 350 gram kraft pouch of sea-salt soak, or a 7 kilogram hessian sack. The name is inherited, not medical; nothing here claims to detoxify anything. What it does do is turn a warm bath sharply, brightly green: may chang lifting citrus off the top, tea tree cutting through like cold air through a window left open too long, juniper settling underneath with the smell of a forest that has never filed a complaint. How to use it

Four steps. Nobody’s watching.

Bath bomb set: run a warm bath and drop one bomb in whole. Let it fizz all the way out before you get in.
Salt soak (350g pouch or 7kg sack): scoop two to three teaspoons into the water as it runs and swirl until dissolved.
Soak until the water cools. The floor can get slippery after, so take it slow getting out.
