WHAT YOU'VE BEEN SOLD
Calm, now with a learning curve.
Relaxation became an industry, and like every industry it added onboarding: the app, the streak, the guided everything, the gentle push notification reminding you you've missed three days of unwinding and your calm is falling behind. Somewhere in there, rest acquired a learning curve and a scoreboard, and you started grading your own weekends, asking, faintly panicked, whether they had been restorative enough. The wood finds this hilarious and declines to participate.
Your meditation app has notifications. Sit with that. Or don't sit with anything.
